For those seeking alternative venues for viewing, appreciating, engaging in the arts–or just another reason to distract oneself online…witness a mini-moment in virtual history, and another one for the contemporary Chinese art scene: the virtual character for real-world Ullens Center director Jerome Sans, will be inaugurated as the city’s third mayor nad “Super Concierge”–an acute reference to excitement in the title of the Center’s “Super Ganbei” restaurant opened after Mr. San’s appointment in 2007.

From the Press Release: For the past four months, RMB City has been guided by the sage economic and artistic wisdom of its second mayor, AlanLau Nirvana (RL: Alan Lau). A time of recession can bring hopelessness and despair, but with AlanLau Nirvana and his “RMB City Stimulus Package” came encouragement, reflection, and creation.  People’s Limbo in RMB City explored all of these feelings, and allowed the city to birth itself anew.

RMB City is now ready to experience new life, energy, and action. It will undergo a new phase of experimentation under the eclectic leadership of its new mayor, Superconcierge Cristole (RL: Jerome Sans), a man of many different talents, who will also serve as the city’s master concierge. What new interpretations and ideas will he have in store?

Please join China Tracy and City Management for a special afternoon ceremony, in which Jerome Sans will be inaugurated on his birthday as RMB City’s third mayor. The event will also include a preview of new works by Hu Fang and Yan Jun in a new and exciting phase of RMB City development.
