About

RedBox Review consolidates the world of contemporary Chinese art as we see it from Beijing. Our blog features book reviews, critical conversations, event & exhibition listings, and relevant news about Chinese art and design that we see, hear and read about on the ground. RedBox Review is a resource for viewing current exhibitions, visiting galleries and museums, reading editorial commentary, and keeping abreast of the art activities contributing to our dynamic city and beyond. Its success is based upon its selection of relevant information vetted by our young, bilingual team of writers who are actively involved in the art scene.

Features of RedBox Review
Conversations
is a special Review feature that taps into Beijing’s community of young critics, writers and creatives engaged in the art and design community. We respond to dialogues we hear in the community and to articles published about contemporary Chinese art with the hope that our thoughtful, critical responses will inform continued conversations about art in China.

IN BRIEF is a semi-monthly email dedicated to the international coverage of contemporary art and design in China delivered directly to your inbox highlighting current events, exhibitions, trends, and more. This email is a collaborative effort between RedBox Review and its partners, the dslcollection and Yishu Journal, to broaden the reach of information about current issues in China’s contemporary art scene.  Click here to receive IN BRIEF emails every two weeks.

RedBox Review was founded by Katie Grube and Katherine Don in January 2008 as an online website resource for up-to-date event information and news related to contemporary art in China.
