Alessandra Henderson

After studying abroad in flashy Shanghai during college, Alessandra returned to the States with an obstinate passion for Mandarin and Chinese street food. Upon graduating, she rushed back to China to sink her teeth into gritty Beijing, where she served as manager of the Chinese Contemporary Gallery and head organizer of Beijing’s Pecha Kucha.

Now back in New York, Alessandra hopes to get involved in the local Chinese art scene as well as keeping up a dialogue with her cronies that are holding down the fort in Asia. When she is not lusting after dumplings or travel, Alessandra can typically be found poking around museums, galleries, studios and concerts – essentially any place with a creative bent.

Alessandra received her B.A. from Vanderbilt University with a double major in Art History and East Asian Studies. In addition to her time at Chinese Contemporary, she also worked in the Chinese Contemporary Department at Sotheby’s New York.
