Henri Benaim is currently director of PKM GALLERY in Caochangdi, Beijing. He has worked at the gallery for over one year where he has organized solo shows and group shows of Chinese, Korean, and Western artists. Prior to working at PKM, he was a Fulbright scholar researching representations of Chinese identity in contemporary art.His interests in contemporary art are also influenced by a keen interest in anthropology and history. When not in his gallery or visiting other galleries Henri can often be found in the kitchen – lately he’s quite proud of his rendition of zha jiang mian.
Upon returning to New York after her first visit to China, Soraya Broukhim provides a review of Wang Qingsong’s "When World's Collide" exhibition of photographs and videos at ICP. (Read more)
